The housing ministry is considering

One of the options the government is considering is that of handing over the redevelopment of Asia’s largest slum cluster to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA).A senior state government official said, "We did not receive any bids till 3 pm on Saturday and now, after four extensions, we can say that the bidding process is completed and there would be no extension for bidding further.”According to the tentative plan, slum clusters will be handed over to the SRA and residents of chawls and buildings can self-redevelop the structures.The state government had extended the bidding dates four times, citing zero response.
